Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)

Statement for SEND

At Sand Hutton and Warthill Church of England Federated Primary Schools we believe that all children have the right to ‘be the best they can be’, academically, socially, emotionally and physically.  This underpins our vision for children with Special Educational Needs.  With this in mind, we strive to support children in all aspects of school life.  We endeavour to support families of children with Special Educational Needs through regular and respectful communication and make adaptations to the provision appropriate to the child’s level of need.

SEND – Local Offer

All North Yorkshire maintained schools have a similar approach to meeting the needs of pupils with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND.)   They are supported by the Local Authority to ensure that all pupils, whatever their specific needs, make the best possible progress in school.   The Local Authority publishes its Local Offer which provides information for children and young people with special educational needs (SEND) and their parents or carers in a single place.

SENDIASS

SENDIASS North Yorkshire is a service for parents and carers of young people aged 0-25 with special educational needs and /or disabilities (SEND) as well as young people themselves.
